Hello, members and IBC attendees. Note that we have become aware of a PHISHING ATTEMPT related to hotel services. The individuals in question are attempting to collect personal information from people associated with the IBC or IBS so that they may "secure a room for you".

Here is an example of the kind of message we see circulating:

    "Dear Participant,

We kindly request that you provide your arrival and departure dates for your upcoming visit to attend the conference for securing a room for you.

Sharing this information with us as soon as possible will allow us to finalize your accommodation and guarantee your booking. This will help prevent any potential issues with room availability and ensure a comfortable and seamless experience during your stay.

    Warm Regards,

    Travel Housing Team"

We have not shared our rooming list with anyone outside of the hotels in question, nor do we share our membership list with any unauthorized third parties. And the hotels in Seoul through which we are contracting would not reach out to you in this impersonal way. Note that the individuals here have not even included your name, nor have they indicated what hotel they are with.

DO NOT FALL INTO THIS TRAP. Please do not reply to or engage with these individuals in any way. Questions about this or any similar messages may be submitted to ibs@biometricsociety.org

Thanks for your time. We look forward to all IBC2026 attendees having a safe, secure and enjoyable experience in Seoul!
